Dev Gate company CEO, Dr. Mahmoud Elbably signed individual consultancy a agreement with PLAN International Egypt to conduct ICT for Development assessment research for 51 NGOs’ working with PLAN International-Egypt in Cairo, Giza, Qalubia, Behaira and Alexandria. To examine and evaluate the current ICT situation in the NGOs and their communities, challenges and barriers facing them to use and integrate ICT in their activities and opportunities to activate the role of technology with PLAN international Egypt.

Research Outcomes:

  1. ICT Technical Report for each CDA include:
  2. ICT assessment analyses, evaluation and inventory of all equipment, hardware, software, internet connection, network infrastructure and the availability of backup strategy in each NGO.
  3. Recommendations for each NGO regarding the hardware, software and other technology usage upgrade.
  4. Analyses of the current use of ICT by NGOs staff members in:
    1. NGO’s internal management.
    1. NGO’s good internal governance practices with the general assembly members regarding transparency, accountability and participation in decision making.
    1. NGO’s program activities (Education, Health, poverty alleviation, Unemployment, Children care, gender, Youth, ..).
  5. Analyses of the use of ICT by community members by gender and age, measuring the ICT literacy and their readiness to learn and access technology in their communities.
  6. Recommend an ICT capacity building plan for each NGO.
  7. Research general report and recommendations for PLAN and NGOs.
  8. Report on the national and international experience and initiatives in integrating ICT for development in the following areas: Child protection, Education, Youth, Gender, and Civil Society.
  9. 5 different ICT4D Concept papers in:
  10. NGOs’ ICT capacity building.
  11. Integrating ICT in non-formal education by NGOs.
  12. Children protection.
  13. Youth and Unemployment.
  14. Women empowerment.
