Dev Gate Company CEO signed a consultancy contract with UNDP Manama, and the National NGOs Center, Ministry of Social Development, Kingdom of Bahrain. to Design information and communication management systems/tools for the National NGOs Center and partner NGOs to improve transparency and accountability; and hence, good governance and management in the NGOs in Bahrain.

Phase 1:

  • Conduct an assessment of the level of governance and management in the National Center and the partner NGOs, with regard to information management, transparency, accountability, participation of constituencies in the decision making.
  • Conduct an assessment of the existing ICT systems / tools and develop with respected UNDP & MOSD (Ministry of Social Development) ICT professionals’ plans for short and long term improvement of the existing systems / tools to improve governance and management practices regarding transparency, accountability, participation…
  • Conduct an assessment of the National Center ICT LAN/WAN performance.
  • Revise the requirements captured and the design for the new National Center system which was under development.
  • Propose re-engineering process when necessary.
  • Design and Develop a plan to establish an information resource center to create and provide specialized information and services to all NGOs in Bahrain.

Phase 2:

  • Provide training and technical assistance for the Ministry of Social Development and the NGOs ICT responsible staff regarding the use of ICT to improve internal governance and management, so as to create Bahraini cadre in such field.
  • Work with the MOSD ICT manager and/or with the National Center ICT officer to design a framework for MIS solutions and install/operate proper ICT systems (Hardware – Software) to improve the flow of information inside / outside the National Center and NGOs; for better transparency, accountability, and participation from all the stakeholders in the decision making process. This task included Work with the National Center to establish and launch the Center’s website. So as to be:
  • One source of information and communication channels for the NGOs, where they can access data / information and technical advices.
  • one of the tools for transparency, accountability, participation, and fundraising for the National Center and partner NGOs
