Dev Gate signed a consultancy agreement with the American University of Cairo and Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), to conduct a filed research on improving training for youth unemployment in Egypt.

The research project will recruit and train 1,000 eligible youth using multiple versions of the training program that have different combinations of soft and technical skills. These different designs will then be evaluated to test their effectiveness and identify the optimal training composition.

Dev Gate will:

  • Locate and implement 2 in-person interviews with 1,000 eligible youth who undertook different training programs about their experiences in the EFE|Egypt training and their labor market outcomes after the training (the list of 1,000 youth will be provided by JPAL, as will the first draft of the survey).
  • Conduct back‐checks and verification for 25% (500) of the implemented surveys.
  • Monthly reports about progress of the work.
  • Preliminary data analysis and cleaning.
