Dev Gate Signed a contract a agreement with Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) to conduct a field research on Improving The Effectiveness of Job Fairs for Young Job-seeker in Egypt.

Job fairs are one way to decrease the matching frictions between firms and job seekers in the labor market. Job fairs are meant to improve the quality of search efforts by bringing job seekers in direct contact with firms that are hiring for formal (and/or “decent”) jobs.

Dev Gate will approach individual job seekers in their household to conduct a survey and provide relevant information on an employment event.

  • Interview 5000 of eligible participants on their employment history, employment status, job search behavior and employment aspirations for the baseline.
  • Follow the randomization protocol set by the research team.
  • Deliver the correct intervention information to each eligible participant according to the random assignment.
  • At the employment event, register all job seekers that attended (Full name, phone number, national ID)
