Dev Gate Signed an agreement with University of Illinois, USA to conduct a field research titled “Mobility on Demand Services Impact Evaluation”
It is clear that mobility-on-demand services such as UBER will continue to increase transit options in developing country cities, where many residents are undeserved by public transit systems and private services are relatively costly. While this increased mobility likely has a wide range of benefits, these benefits are hard to precisely estimate as they are often diffuse and difficult to capture using standard methods. University of Illinois is working with UBER to implement an experiment to improve our understanding of how individual behavior will change as prices for these services continue to decrease.
Project Outputs:
- Obtain any necessary government approvals for the research project from CAPAMS and any other relevant approvals.
- Register 7000 of eligible participants through Phone interview.
- Interview 7000 of eligible participants on their transportation history, and their behavior regarding each trip through 4 forms of interviews; Baseline, Follow up1, Follow up2, follow up 3, and follow up 4.
- Ensure timing between each survey not to be less than 2 weeks and not exceed 4 weeks.
- Monthly reports about progress of the work.
